〈엘엠오3116(LMO3116)〉은 스튜디오 1750이 결성되면서부터 현재까지 천착하고 있는 유전자 변형 생명체에 관한 작업으로, 당시 여러 가지 크기로 작업하였던 민들레 홀씨를 대상으로 한 작품이다. 14개의 민들레 홀씨 모양 오브제들을 천장에 매달고 송풍기를 이용하여 바람을 넣었다 뺐다 반복하면서 움직임을 만들어낸다. 작품의 제목인 ‘LMO‘는 자연생태가 아닌 인위적으로 변형된 생물체를 포괄적으로 지칭하고, ’3116‘은 연도를 나타낸다. 즉 3116년에 나타날 새로운 돌연변이를 거대한 민들레 홀씨로 보여주고 있다. 작가는 가냘파 보이지만 질긴 생명력을 가진 민들레의 속성에서 영감을 얻어 먼 미래까지 이어져 끈질기게 살아남게 될 괴생명체의 모습으로 탄생시켰다. 이 작품은 인간의 탐욕과 이기심으로 인한 유전자 조작이 지속된다면 결국 지구는 비정상적인 생명체가 난무하는 디스토피아가 될 수 밖에 없다고 경고한다.

LMO3116 is a work about genetically modified organisms, which has been a preoccupation of Studio 1750 since its inception, and is based on dandelion seeds, which the artist worked with in various sizes at the time. Fourteen dandelion seed-shaped objects are suspended from the ceiling and blown in and out with a blower to create movement. The title of the work, 'LMO', refers to artificially modified organisms that are not natural, and '3116' refers to the year, showing the new mutations that will appear in 3116 as giant dandelion seeds. The artist was inspired by the properties of dandelions, which look slender but have a strong life force, to create a monstrous creature that will persist into the distant future. The work warns that if genetic manipulation continues due to human greed and selfishness, the Earth will eventually become a dystopia of abnormal life forms.
